Action Group Title: How to Transform Dreaded Conversations at Work: From Conflict to Collaboration

This 6-week Action Group is the chance to learn and practice tools to confidently resolve employee problems and all kinds of conflicts at work.



Here’s What You’ll Learn:

  • Some employees just can’t get their work done the way you want it. Learn to communicate your expectations and to hold employees accountable for meeting their goals.

  • An employee who is 10 minutes late to work every day for a year has taken the equivalent of a week’s vacation. Learn to stop individual and organizational tardiness.

  • Stop keeping a to-do list on what your employees need to do or turn in to you. Teach your direct reports how to track their assignments and give you regular updates.

  • You want your boss' respect, but are afraid to be seen as a troublemaker. Kegan and Lahey credit this type of fear to the "change immune system" -- a dynamic system that is continuously producing antibodies, or resistances, to change. Learn to overcome your fear, and start speaking the truth about what’s bugging you.

  • Learn to give authentic feedback when you feel good, bad or indifferent about employee performance.

  • Get clear about your professional values and how you want to treat people. Learn to deal with everyone at work equally, whether you like them or not.
